Keith Allyn Spencer takes pictures of himself and his family with a painted portrait series. The painted subjects are anonymous, created from various photo or video references. They remind us of someone or make us wonder about who they are. Our association to these people through these paintings is not coincidental. It is the tendency we have to find meaningful connections in things. We project ourselves onto these painted subjects making them somebody. Without us they are nobodies. Boom.
